The specialty of store-owner James Sego, Eisenhower dollars were introduced in 1971, the first dollar coin minted since 1935. The obverse features the bust of President and General Dwight D. Eisenhower. The reverse features an eagle, clutching an olive branch, flying above of the moon with the earth in the background. In 1975 and 1976, a bicentennial issue featured a reverse with the Liberty Bell in front of the moon.
